Demo Reel for 2016 consisting of projects from 2015 and before. Includes all aspects of my work. Commercial, music video, narrative, documentary, action sports, wildlife, and more. Some believe in having a few different reels that focus on each specific genre of work. I strongly believe that every type of job informs every other type. My action sports background is beneficial to my commercial work. My narrative work is beneficial to wildlife filming. I am proud of the diversity of work I have shot and believe it makes me a stronger cinematographer no matter the genre.
Based in Vancouver, BC with Canadian permanent residency and US citizenship so I can work on both sides of the border.

“The Edge…There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. The others-the living-are those who pushed their control as far as they felt they could handle it, and then pulled back, or slowed down, or did whatever they had to when it came time to choose between Now and Later. But the edge is still Out there.”

Trailer from full length 2013 film Way of Life for clients Teton Gravity Research that I was a cinematographer on. Spent all winter shooting in Austria, Interior BC, and the Neacola Mountains in Alaska. Over 200 premieres in cities around the globe.
For some, embracing the mountains is not just part of life—it’s a way of life. The search for snow shapes not only how they approach these peaks, but also how they approach the world. And whether athletes spend their days dropping first descents in Alaska, lapping the local mountain, or training for the Olympics, they’re part of a community built around a shared passion. The bonds that form from this community transcend continents and cultures, transforming strangers into friends. After all, a smile on a powder day needs no translation.
Shot on location in 2013, Teton Gravity Research’s Way of Life takes you on a journey to the mountains and inside the minds of today’s top athletes. With stunning imagery created with GSS, Red Cinema, and the Sony Action Cam, this film explores the origins of skiing in Austria, the search for original lines in Alaska, and the U.S. Freeskiing Team’s quest for Olympic gold. The adventure also leads athletes to the rugged terrain of Jackson Hole and the Tetons, as well as the backcountry of British Columbia. Regardless of the terrain they ride, the athletes featured in Way of Life push the boundaries of what’s possible. This journey takes them across the globe as they form a brotherhood that needs no language.

Director, Cinematographer, Editor for this piece highlighting pro skier Maxim Arsenault shot in Whistler and Vancouver, BC. Produced by Dendrite Studios.
Maxim Arsenault continues his rise among the big mountain skiing elite by charging and stomping with his 2012 segment.
Sacrifice is an offering to Ullr the God of Snow, so he may bless us with deep and plentiful pow. Rumors spread this fall throughout our home mountain of Whistler that we were due for a low tide season after multiple record breaking years. Dendrite decided to challenge that notion with this offering of skiing and a beautiful woman as we heard Ullr enjoys such pleasures. Did it work? While we were editing this piece Whistler received 121 cms over the last 7 days. Coincidence? We think not.
This is also a gift to the male ski bums of the world. They sacrifice many things to live the dream. One of those is most likely the comfort of a lady. Ski town ladies are among the most beautiful and rad females around! But the simple fact remains that in many ski towns, guys outnumber ladies by 10 to 1. That leaves many out in the cold.
So cheers to Ullr and cheers to ski bums…both the guys and the gals, you all rule! Here’s to a bountiful harvest this winter!

Maxim Arsenault is one rad dude.
Maximus is his nickname. Filled with stoke and always, without fail, picking the biggest airs and lines when we pull up to a new zone.
His enthusiasm is infectious. Every skier loves the sport and the mountains, but Maxim’s love of skiing is the strongest we have ever seen. He truly deserves to be included in the upper echelon of big mountain skiers. He has a strong future ahead of him.
So thanks Maxim for being a blast to shoot and dedicating your life to the simplicity and adventure of the mountains, away from the occupied chaos of the cities.
